Committees
Committees are the heart of ILR, bringing together dedicated volunteers to help plan, organize, and sustain the programs, events, and operations that make our community thrive. By serving on a committee, members play a vital role in shaping the future of ILR and ensuring its continued success.

Culture and Travel
Maria Phillips and Tom Brennan, Chairs
The Travel Committee coordinates and plans all travel programs, providing enriching and enjoyable experiences beyond the classroom. Each year, members can choose from several one-day and multi-day domestic trips, along with one or two international travel opportunities. All trips are thoughtfully organized in collaboration with trusted local professional travel companies to ensure quality, comfort, and memorable experiences.

Cultural Events
Pat Giblin and Penny Jeffrey, Chairs
The Cultural Events Committee informs ILR members about available programs at local venues and coordinates participation in these events. The committee arranges ticketing, transportation (if needed), and handles all other details to ensure members enjoy a seamless and pleasant experience.

Curriculum
Pam McConnell and Patty Rondaris-Danzey, Chairs
The Curriculum Committee leads the academic program of ILR and establishes the yearly academic calendar. The committee is responsible for recruiting and approving instructors, training and assigning Host Coordinators, securing and maintaining teaching equipment and supplies, and identifying and coordinating appropriate venues for classes. All classroom instructors are selected and confirmed by a vote of the Curriculum Committee.
