Experience a day of wide-open landscapes, fascinating animals, and unforgettable hands-on fun as you travel to The Wilds in Cumberland, Ohio, one of North America’s largest wildlife conservation centers. Your adventure begins with a two-hour guided safari aboard an open-air safari bus, rolling through beautiful countryside where animals roam freely in natural habitats. Keep your cameras ready as you may encounter giraffes, rhinos, zebras, bison, ostriches, antelopes, and other rare and endangered species while expert guides share stories about the animals and the important conservation efforts taking place here. In the afternoon, continue on to Dickinson Cattle Company for a memorable western-themed visit known as “Tourin’ with the Cows,” where you’ll enjoy a delicious smoked brisket luncheon with homestyle sides and dessert before setting out on a 75-minute guided driving tour across thousands of acres of pastureland. The buses bring you remarkably close to an impressive herd of Texas Longhorn, Dutch Belted, and African Watusi cattle, allowing you to truly appreciate their massive, sweeping horns and striking appearance. As a special treat, each guest will receive “cow candy” to hand-feed the cattle, creating a unique, interactive experience where photos and videos are not only welcome, but encouraged.
