Step back in time and meet the people who made America at Colonial Williamsburg!  This is a repeat of our ILR trip of December 2018!  Here is our chance to become immersed in the place where the ideals we stand for as Americans were defined during the time of our journey from an English settlement to the final Revolutionary WAR battle that created our new nation.  Saved by the financial backing of John D. Rockefeller II in the 1920’s, Colonial Williamsburg is a restored 18th century city that comes to life and transports you back to the time.  We’ll see the actual places and learn about the people who made America, from politicians to blacksmiths to maids and everyone between.   

We’ll arrive in Colonial Williamsburg late on the first day in time for dinner at an authentic, early 1700’s tavern to give you a feel for life in the colonies.  We’ll depart from our hotel early on the second day after Breakfast and return to the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center.  We’ll obtain our guides to begin our walking tour (Williamsburg is ALL WALKING) as we soak in the spectacular history and ambience.  We’ll have free time in the afternoon to take in talks about the politics of the day, entertainment of historically accurate songs and music, and tour the many restored buildings (and gardens) from opulent mansions, to print shops and more.  There are historic shops throughout the village offering 18th-century-style tavernware and one-of-a-kind items handmade by the skilled tradespeople using 18th-century tools and techniques.  Adjacent to the Revolutionary City is Merchants Square, with more than 40 modern shops and eateries in the Colonial style.  In early evening, we’ll have a chance to watch the Illumination of the Greens, a spectacular Holiday Torch Light Parade!

After the Illumination, we’ll have a second dinner at another 1700’s tavern on site.  Christmas at Colonial Williamsburg is a very special time that includes enduring traditions and unique activities and festivities to commemorate the season.  On the third day, we’ll depart for home after our Revolutionary Vacation.  Call JKL TOURS at 440.942.5350 to be placed on the “INTEREST LIST,” until we can send you the Final Details.
