Stories of some of the women whose lives and work intertwined with the founding and growth of Cleveland during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Yankee farmwives, immigrant business owners, philanthropists, pioneers in education and social work, and one notorious con-woman.

Your Instructor
Judy MacKeigan received her BA and MA in History from Cleveland State University, with a focus in19th Century American and local history. She retired in June of 2025 after serving as Historian and Archivist for Cleveland Metroparks for fifteen years, a career which allowed her to widen her historical research and knowledge into the 20th century.
