This class is a foundation class that builds on 2D shapes. It provides proportional measuring and value shading which results in an accurate drawing of all subject areas. Focus areas will be: Accuracy, Basic Shading, Tone and Value Control and Using an Artistic Eye.

   1) 8x11 or larger Smooth or Vellum drawing Paper. (Strathmore or Canson are great  choices). DO NOT buy       Hobby Lobby or Michael’s brand.

   2) Kneaded Eraser

   3) Metal Pencil Sharpener

   4) Charcoal Pencil - Medium, Soft and Hard (General’s)

   5) Drawing Pencils 2B

   6) Artist Sand Block

   7) Blending stumps

   8) Tombow eraser

   9) Drawing Board AT LEAST 24 x 32 or larger

  10) 18 inch ruler

  11.) Proportional Divider - plastic one by Accurasee

  12.) Most supplies are on Amazon. Hobby Lobby and Michaels are only carrying their brands and they don’t have the above items.

Your Instructor

Cheri Homaee’s art career spans fifty years as a painter, a photographer and an art instructor. Her photography has been published and exhibited throughout the East Coast, with many of her works in private collections. She has won several national and international juried competitions. Cheri has taught drawing, pottery, colored pencils and photography at Brecksville Center for the Arts at the Busy Bee for over ten years.
