INSTITUTE OF LEARNING IN RETIREMENT (ILR) AT BWU – WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING NOW AND FUTURE PLANS FOR THE ORGANIZATION:

We have just finished the 2021-2022 fiscal year for the ILR organization.  It was a great year for the ILR organization because of the following reasons: (1) our membership and class registration numbers increased; (2) we provided our members both in person and zoom classes for the Fall, Winter and Spring sessions; (3) classes are now provided to independent and assisted living facilities; (4) our popular ILR luncheons started up again; and (5) vacation trips and cultural events were provided once again to our ILR members!

As for the coming year and in the future, classes with our very talented presenters will continue either in person or by zoom, and still at a very low membership and tuition cost!  In addition, we look forward again to provide other benefits to our ILR members such as luncheons, long and short-term vacation trips, and other cultural events.   Learning in Retirement can be a very productive, worthwhile and fun experience for our members.  This includes meeting new friends and also by having conversations with people we have met previously at an ILR class or event.

I would like to thank all of our talented, experienced and competent ILR volunteers.  This includes our ILR officers, Chair persons, and other members of the committees that keep this organization running efficiently and smoothly.  Also, thanks to our wonderful ILR class presenters and coordinators for our great classes!  These hard-working people give many hours of their time to make everyone’s experience a fun one.

In summary, I see for the ILR organization great success in all of its endeavors, and once again, thank you for your wonderful support now and in the future!!!

Doug Imhoff

ILR President
