Eight Students Named Scholarship Recipients by ILRBW

The Institute for Learning in Retirement at Baldwin Wallace University (ILRBW) honored eight students in August with scholarship funding to help support their educational goals. Seven non-traditional undergraduate students will each receive a $3,000 scholarship for the coming academic year and one graduate education student was selected to receive the $3,000 Louise Kiefer scholarship.

The ILRBW Scholarship Program exemplifies what the organization stands for: promoting lifelong learning. Since its inception in 1992, ILR has provided more than $516,000 in scholarships to students at Baldwin Wallace University.

Criteria for the undergraduate scholarships include the following:

·        Students age 24 or older

·        Minimum 2.75 GPA

·        Preference for veteran or military-dependent

·        Financial need

Additionally, the Louise Kiefer Graduate Education scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in BW’s graduate education program.

This year's undergraduate recipients are: Jeffrey Bohnert, Lakewood; Tiajuana Christian, Parma; Leah Etzler, North Olmsted; Shawanay Kirksey, Garfield Hts., Jennifer Lavelle, Strongsville; Olivia Morgenroth, Pleasanton, Calif.; and Jason Skory, Painesville.

Erin Larsen of Parma Hts. received the graduate education scholarship.
