Watercolor [Landscape] ONGOING (S24-11) Strongsville Historical Society

FULL - Waitlist only
Students will be learning the difference between sketching and drawing. Shapes and form. Brushes and watercolor paper. How to paint sky, clouds, birds, evergreen trees, mountains, lakes, grasses, shrubs, rocks. Perspective and shadows. Some art terms and art gimmicks will be taught.

Sketch book (Canson XL 9 X 12 - Mixed Media 98 lb.)
2 yellow regular HB 2 pencils
WHITE art eraser

9 X 12 watercolor paper (140 lb. tablet)
A board to support the watercolor paper, a little larger than the w/c paper
1/2 in. masking tape to tape your w/c paper to the board

Watercolor Brushes: 1 inch flat, #8 round, #6 round.

Paints: Watercolor starter set.

Palette: I suggest a palette that has a lid, is big enough to mix paints and has wells for paints; NOT a small round dish palette that has no room for paints or mixing.

Presenter: Bobbie Dorr

Bobbie Dorr, Watercolor Artist, attended the Cleveland Institute of Art and has studied under many of the masters of Fine Art in Ohio. She is an accomplished artist and instructor of watercolor, one of the most demanding mediums in the visual arts. She has won many awards over the years: "Best of Show," First, Second and Third Place at shows throughout Northeast Ohio and has had her work displayed at many "One Man Shows." Bobbie likes to teach the beginner and intermediate level students to give them a solid foundation and understanding of the basic principles of the medium.
